How I can help
I offer individual therapy on an open-ended basis or for an agreed period of time. Sessions are structured and typically fall on the same day and time each week, unless agreed otherwise.
My approach
I work together with you to help you understand and make sense of your difficulties, as well as to develop effective coping strategies. Depending on what you want to achieve from therapy, we'll tailor the work to suit your needs.
Feel free to call me on 07414 132700 for an initial chat — sometimes it's useful to hear my voice to form a first impression. Otherwise, you can always drop me an email.
Common Questions
What happens in the initial consultation?
We'll discuss your concerns and reasons for seeking therapy, your background, and what you'd like to achieve. It's also an opportunity to see if I'm the right psychologist for you — you're under no obligation to continue after the first meeting.
How many sessions will I need?
There is no fixed number of sessions required. Sessions usually take place once a week and the duration depends on your personal needs and circumstances. This can be discussed in our initial meeting and reviewed on an ongoing basis.
What are the fees?
The fee for a session is £100. I reserve a few spaces at a lower fee for students, trainees and those on lower incomes. Payment is by cash at the appointment or bank transfer in advance.
What does the session fee include?
The fee covers the session itself, tailored resources and documents, phone support between sessions (as per therapy contract), note-taking and room fees.
Do you accept health insurance?
Yes, I am a recognised practitioner with Bupa, Aviva, Vitality Health and AXA-PPP. Please contact your insurer beforehand to arrange authorisation of your sessions.
What is the cancellation policy?
A full fee is charged for sessions missed or cancelled without 24 hours' notice. The fee may be waived in exceptional circumstances such as serious illness, or if you can reschedule within the same week (subject to room availability).
